Top officials of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held an important meeting in Peshawar to promote mutual cooperation regarding social security of women. The purpose of this meeting was to coordinate the ongoing measures for the welfare of women in both the provinces and to prepare a plan of action for the betterment of the backward class.
Visit to KPCSW
Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) Chairperson Jahan Ara Vito and Director General Pemra Ayesha Vito visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women (KPCSW) office. He held a detailed meeting with KPCSW Chairperson Dr. Rafat Sardar and other senior officials.
In the meeting, discussions were held on expanding the scope of welfare schemes for women beyond the provincial boundaries and improving their implementation. Both sides reviewed the existing policy framework to provide maximum relief to deserving women through mutual cooperation.

Officials stressed that due to ambiguity in policies, there are difficulties in reaching women in remote districts. Data sharing and strategy integration will make aid delivery more efficient in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It remains to be seen in the coming months what steps the two provincial governments take to implement these proposals. Only through the establishment of common welfare portals and monitoring systems will the real benefits of this consultation emerge.
