Police Martyrs' Day was observed with utmost devotion and respect across Punjab on Wednesday, to pay tribute to the brave officers and personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Special ceremonies were organized by the district administration and police authorities in different districts of the province to acknowledge the sacrifices of the heirs of the martyrs.
A dignified function was held in Dera Ghazi Khan under the chairmanship of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mohammad Azhar Akram at the Crystal Executive Marquee. The event was attended by police officers, civil society dignitaries and families of the martyrs to remember the undying sacrifices that were made to maintain law and order. Similarly, in Faisalabad also, a solemn ceremony was organized on Wednesday under the auspices of the district police.

At DG Khan's function, RPO Mohammad Azhar Akram met the children, parents and widows of the martyrs and assured them that the police department will never leave the families of its martyrs alone. The following important steps were taken during the celebrations:
- Special guard of honor for martyrs at police lines across the province
- Recitation of Fatiha for the elevation of ranks and security of the country
- Distribution of commemorative shields and financial assistance checks to the families of the martyrs
- Special public communication sessions at district level

In Faisalabad too, the district police officials invited the heirs of the martyrs and presented them with special gifts. Speaking at the ceremony, senior police officers said that the martyrs of the police force are our pride and the responsibility of their children's education and support rests with the state. Instructions have also been issued to resolve the pension issues as soon as possible.
