Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) through Pakistan Netherlands Dairy Development Center (PNDDC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Friesmann Compena Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) to meet the shortage of skilled manpower in the agriculture and dairy sector. The objective of this collaboration is to initiate vocational training programs in Lahore and other agricultural districts of Punjab, with special focus on modern dairy farming, milk processing and supply chain management.

According to experts, although Pakistan is one of the largest milk producing countries in the world, the production per animal is still low due to traditional practices in rural areas. Under this partnership, local farmers and youth will be given special courses that will be of international standards. The trainee farmers will be able to get practical training in animal care, safety procurement and better feed management.

Economic improvement through dairy training

Farmers in rural areas of Punjab often face financial loss due to lack of adequate price of milk and animal diseases. The aim of this new initiative is to teach farmers science-based farming to increase their income.
