Punjab Food Authority seals 4 popular food chains on M-2 Motorway in massive crackdown

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has conducted a major crackdown on reputed food chains located at Sukhiki Interchange of M2 Motorway, where very poor sanitation arrangements were found. A total of 5 reputed food outlets were raided during this impromptu operation, 4 of which were immediately sealed while a total of hefty fines of Rs 35 lakh were imposed for gross violations of hygiene norms.

When the Punjab Food Authority's enforcement team inspected the kitchen and storage areas of these well-known brands located at Sukhiki Interchange, they allegedly found unsanitary items and flagrant violation of hygiene norms. A statement released by the authority said that a total of 5 popular food chains were raided, of which 4 were sealed on the spot so that public health was not at risk any more.
