How overseas Pakistanis can open a Roshan Digital Account (RDA) online — eligibility, documents, choosing a bank, and what you can do with the account.
The Roshan Digital Account (RDA) lets overseas Pakistanis and NICOP holders open a Pakistani bank account entirely online — no branch visit, no visit to Pakistan. It gives access to remittances, utility and investment options like Naya Pakistan Certificates, Roshan Apna Ghar and stock investment.
You apply on your chosen bank's RDA portal with your identity and proof-of-income documents; the account is usually opened within a couple of days after verification. This guide covers the general steps.
You qualify if you are a non-resident Pakistani (or hold NICOP/POC), or a resident with declared foreign assets. Have your CNIC/NICOP and passport ready.
Pick from the banks offering RDA (most major Pakistani banks do) based on features and charges.
Go to the bank's Roshan Digital Account application page and start a new application.
Provide your CNIC/NICOP, passport, proof of residence abroad and proof of income/profession as requested.
The bank verifies your details (and may do a short video/KYC step). Approval usually takes one to two working days.
Once active, transfer funds from abroad into your RDA to start using it.
Send remittances, pay bills, and invest in Naya Pakistan Certificates, Roshan Apna Ghar or the stock market through the account.
Non-resident Pakistanis and NICOP/POC holders, and resident Pakistanis with declared foreign assets. It is opened fully online without visiting a branch.
Receive remittances, pay utilities, and invest in Naya Pakistan Certificates, Roshan Apna Ghar (home financing) and the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
Usually one to two working days after you submit your documents and the bank completes verification.
