🧾 Rupees Amount in Words

Convert a rupee amount into words in English and Urdu — for cheques and invoices.

🛠️ Free tool by the NayaPakistan team · Updated September 2026

When you write a cheque, invoice or legal document, the amount must be spelled out in words as well as figures. This tool instantly converts any rupee amount into words in English (and a grouped Urdu form) using the Pakistani lakh and crore system — so "1,250,000" becomes "Twelve Lakh Fifty Thousand Rupees Only".

It avoids the common mistakes of the international million/billion grouping, which does not match how amounts are written on Pakistani cheques and official paperwork. Just type the number and copy the words.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write a cheque amount in words in Pakistan?

Write the figure in the box and the amount line, then spell it out in words ending with "Rupees Only" — for example "Fifty Thousand Rupees Only". This tool generates that wording for you.

Does it use lakh and crore or million?

It uses the Pakistani lakh/crore system (1 lakh = 100,000; 1 crore = 10,000,000), which is how cheques and invoices are written in Pakistan — not the international million system.

Can it show the amount in Urdu?

Yes. Alongside the English words it shows a grouped Urdu form using کروڑ / لاکھ / ہزار for the amount.
