Pakistani property is measured in traditional units — Marla and Kanal — alongside square feet, square yards (gaz) and acres. Because plot prices, transfer fees and construction estimates all use these units, converting between them accurately matters before any deal. This tool converts any amount from one unit into all the others at once.
The standard scale is 1 Kanal = 20 Marla = 5,445 square feet = 605 square yards, and 8 Kanals make 1 acre. Note that some areas — parts of older cities and certain housing schemes — still use a smaller 225 sq ft Marla, so always confirm the local standard with the society or registrar before finalising a purchase.
On the standard scale, 1 Marla = 272.25 square feet. Some older areas use a 225 sq ft Marla, so confirm the local measure.
1 Kanal = 20 Marla = 5,445 square feet = 605 square yards (gaz).
1 acre = 8 Kanal = 160 Marla = 43,560 square feet = 4,840 square yards.
A gaz is a square yard — 9 square feet. It is commonly used to quote plot sizes; 1 Marla is about 30.25 gaz on the standard scale.
