🛠️ Free tool by the NayaPakistan team · Updated September 2026

This calculator converts your obtained marks out of the total into a percentage and a rough grade — useful for matric and intermediate results, university papers and any exam where you want the number instantly. Enter what you scored and the total, and it does the arithmetic and shows the working.

The formula is simply obtained ÷ total × 100. The letter grade shown here uses common bands (A+ for 80%+, A for 70%+, and so on), but grade boundaries vary by board and university, so always check your own institution's grading scheme. To convert a percentage to a 4.0 GPA, use our GPA calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate percentage of marks?

Divide your obtained marks by the total marks and multiply by 100. For example, 850 out of 1100 is 850 ÷ 1100 × 100 = 77.27%.

What percentage is an A grade?

It varies by board and university. A common scheme marks 80%+ as A+, 70–79% as A, 60–69% as B and 50–59% as C — but confirm your own institution's bands.

How do I convert marks to CGPA?

First convert your percentage using this tool, then use the GPA calculator to map that percentage to a 4.0-scale GPA. CGPA is the credit-weighted average of every semester's GPA.

Can I calculate aggregate for admissions?

Aggregate formulas weight matric, inter and entry-test marks differently for each university. Use this tool for each component's percentage, then apply your university's official weightings.
