Sadaqa-e-Fitr, commonly called Fitrana, is a charity that every Muslim who can afford it gives before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer — for themselves and each dependent. This calculator multiplies your family size by the per-person amount to give the total due.
Fitrana is fixed as the value of about 2.25 kg (one sa') of a staple — wheat/flour, barley, dates or raisins. Committees announce a rupee value for each staple every Ramadan; the flour rate is the common minimum, while dates or raisins are higher. Give it before the Eid prayer so it can reach the needy in time.
